FAQ: DO I NEED IACET OR ICF CREDIT HOURS?
A: THANKS FOR THE GOOD QUESTION! You are probably aware as to why people like Methodist Ministers, Social Workers, Nurses, Teachers, Police Officers, etc., must get continuing education units in order to be re-certified each year in their profession. That is why we aligned ourselves with IACET (International Association of Continuing Education Training) – and are an Approved-Provider for them. You would “know” if your employer requires annual CEU’s from you, as it is a prerequisite for employment.
The same principle holds true for Life Coaches who have been trained directly by ICF (International Coach Federation). Those coaches must take annually a certain number of “continuing coaching education” hours, abbreviated as CCE Units. So, the basic answer to your question is that you don’t need ICF CCEU’s unless you have already taken their 2-year foundational courses and have been notified by them that you need additional CCEU’s. We are an Approved-Provider for ICF for CCE Units.
