Jan Stanish's story of how she dealt with rage is featured in Day 2 of the Self-Control chapter. Here is the rest of her story...
Dancing was part of my carefree life as a young child in the Midwest, and my favorite stage was summer: warm raindrops and puddles, my mother’s flower garden, the dusty path to my grandparent’s home and a star-filled sky for the day’s finale. When my life became more complex, I stopped dancing, I hid my desire to take lessons and perform, and I carried into adulthood the mistaken idea that my longings were unimportant.
After many years of feeling out of sync with myself, I began to identify and value my deserted desires and realize my life purpose: To know and become the person God created me to be, to authentically express myself and exhibit His character, and to encourage women to find their unique way to do the same. God’s call to life coaching and advanced training was very clear; His message was very personal when required reading for a class described life coaching as dancing in the moment…..client and coach keeping the same rhythm and movement! Partnering with women who are ready to live in step with their heart-song is my passion!
My husband and I live a few miles north of San Francisco where we enjoy the climate, scenery and opportunities to walk by mountain streams and on beaches, sail and be outside at home. Since staying connected with friends and relatives is important, we welcome visitors and travel often!
